Company
Production systems for energy security.
AIRCO, formerly Air Company, is Air Company Holdings, Inc. For more than a century, fuel has been made in centralized refineries and moved through long, exposed supply chains. AIRCO moves production closer to demand, using local CO₂, water and power to make customer-specified liquid fuels where they are needed.
To advance global energy security by turning CO₂ into a scalable, usable resource.
Our work
Gregory Constantine and Dr. Stafford Sheehan founded AIRCO in 2017. Gregory Constantine is Co-Founder and CEO. AIRCO first proved its chemistry in AIR Vodka and AIR Eau de Parfum, then moved to integrated process hardware and full-scale operating systems.
AIRCO makes fuels and chemicals from CO₂, water and power using AIRMADE™ Technology, and builds MAD™, a factory-built module that produces finished fuel on site. Hardware, data, manufacturing and program experience make the chemistry deployable.
AIRCO fuel-production systems have logged about 20,000 operating hours, alongside fuel validation and demonstrations. More than $85 million has been awarded in U.S. government program funding.
AIRCO is based at 44 Industrial Drive, New Britain, PA 18901. Its 25,000-square-foot Pennsylvania Manufacturing Hub combines research and development, product engineering and manufacturing. The first commercial MAD module is in build here.
How we got here
- 2017: founded by Gregory Constantine and Dr. Stafford Sheehan.
- 2022: the U.S. Air Force flies an unmanned test aircraft on unblended AIRCO Jet A-1 made from CO₂.
- 2023: EPA Green Chemistry Challenge Award.
- 2024: Series B led by Avfuel; synthetic diesel powers a tactical vehicle at West Point.
- 2025: Air Company becomes AIRCO; the AIRMADE Fuel Demonstration Plant starts operating; AIRCO Jet A-1 is named a TIME Best Invention.
- 2026: Pennsylvania facility opens; the first commercial MAD module is in build.
